Among LALO’s inaugural offerings with Artistic Director Dr. Raoul Carlo (Miggi) Angangco, Panunuluyan is inspired by the Filipino Christmas Eve tradition of re-enacting Mary and Joseph's journeying in Bethlehem in preparation for the Nativity.
Themes of continuing a journey, seeking shelter, yearning for home, awaiting dawn, and extending welcome will be explored through the works of Agot Espino, Robin Estrada, John Rutter, Ryan Cayabyab, Caroline Shaw, Gianpaolo Eleria, Ēriks Ešenvalds, Paulo K Tiról, Karl San Jose (LALÒ’s first WORLD PREMIERE commission), Saunder Choi, Raoul Carlo Angangco, George Frideric Handel, Lucio San Pedro, and George Hernandez.
Joining LALÒ for this performance are the FilAm Ministers of Music and Arts, Herald, Mater Dolorosa Music Ministry, St. Robert Church Music Ministry, and St. Robert School Choir.
