Leo Locsin
LEO KENNETH LOCSIN, bass, found his voice while humming to Mozart divertimenti as a child. He then joined his hometown parish’s boys choir, glee clubs during primary and secondary school, and the Ateneo de Manila College Glee Club while finishing studies in English Literature. He subsequently performed with the Ateneo Chamber Singers and ALERON; and was also a founding member of both groups. His choral experience had afforded him opportunities to sing under regarded conductors in the Philippine choral community, which include Prof. Joel Navarro, Jonathan Velasco, Ma. Lourdes Hermo, Christopher Arceo, and Dr. Beverly Shangkuan-Cheng. He, too, participated in several international concert competition tours, as well as various theater, opera, and movie productions.
As a boy soprano, he was under the tutelage of Prof. Arne Lubasan at the University of San Agustin Conservatory of Music, Iloilo City. As a bass-baritone, his teachers included Emmanuel Miranda, Dr. Ramon Acoymo, and Christopher Arceo.
He now works as a freelance English language assessor, instructor, writer, and professional development trainer.
After a four-year hiatus from the choral scene, his joining LALÒ marks his return to the art form, rediscovering his voice anew.
