Joel Jay Baluyot
Tenor Joel Jay Baluyot studied classical voice with the late Maestra Salvacion Oppus Yñiguez in the Philippines. In his undergraduate years, he toured extensively with the multi-award winning University of Santo Tomas Singers under conductor Fidel Calalang, Jr. from 1993-2000. Joel moved to the United States in 2000 where he continued his passion for choral music. He was a professional member of the San Francisco Symphony Chorus under Ragnar Bohlin from seasons 2008-2011 and appeared as a featured soloist in Giovanni Gabrieli’s In Ecclesiis in March 2009. These days, Joel actively sings with the International Orange Chorale of San Francisco, as well as the Golden Gate Men’s Chorus.
Outside music, you’ll find Joel cooking at home, staying active, dining out, and wine tasting in wine country. As an Operating Room nurse, Joel is proud to play a part in changing and improving people’s lives.
